As a company committed to generating energy savings for its customers, PPS is pleased to have recently gained re-accreditation with the Carbon Trust.
What is the Carbon Trust?
The Carbon Trust (www.carbontrust.com) describes itself as: “an independent, expert partner of leading organisations around the world, helping them contribute to and benefit from a more sustainable future through carbon reduction, resource efficiency strategies and commercialising low carbon technologies”.
The organisation’s Accredited Supplier scheme is a trusted quality standard in the UK, recognising companies that supply high-quality, energy-efficient equipment and renewable technologies. These companies receive a listing in the Green Business Directory: https://www.carbontrust.com/resources/green-business-directory/
How does our Carbon Trust accreditation benefit our customers?
Achieving Carbon Trust accreditation is important for a number of reasons:
- It demonstrates that the equipment and systems we supply will deliver the projected energy savings
- As we offer a full turnkey solution of design, supply, install and service, you can be confident that we will embed a commitment to environmental and energy-saving initiatives into every project – from start to finish
- Our recommendations and the machinery and systems we supply will help you reduce your carbon footprint and contribute towards the welfare of the planet
- If you are looking for ways to boost profits and reduce operational costs, energy-efficient initiatives could be the answer.
What does re-accreditation mean?
Accreditation must be reapplied for annually. This requires us to review and update our application and submit new case studies. The robust assessment process involves criteria set by the Carbon Trust, which must be met or exceeded.
We are delighted that the Carbon Trust has recognised our ongoing ability to deliver well-designed, energy-saving compressed air systems, by re-accrediting our company.
How can my company benefit?
Many of our customers have benefited from a free energy audit, carried out by our qualified engineers. This involves data logging your system and making recommendations such as reducing air leaks from machinery and pipework or replacing old machinery with energy-efficient alternatives that can have a remarkably short payback time while saving you thousands of pounds on your annual energy bills.
A recent example is Alco Valves, based in Brighouse, West Yorkshire; a company that manufactures precision made valve products and accessories. Data logging showed substantial potential energy savings could be made by replacing the company’s old compressor. Alco Valves invested in a new VSD compressor, with a short payback time, and the company is now enjoying annual savings of around £15,800 on its energy bills.
