More than 300 people working in manufacturing and associated industries gathered for the 2015 EEF Yorkshire & the Humber Manufacturing Dinner last night (Wednesday 30 September 2015).
The dinner was held in the splendid and historic main hall of Cutlers’ Hall, a Grade II listed building in Sheffield. Representing PPS was Richard McClurg, Sales Executive for Simm Engineering, and PPS copywriter and marketing adviser Michelle Hodgson.
Following an introduction by Andy Tüscher, Director of EEF Yorkshire and the Humber Region, and a welcome by Terry Scuoler, EEF’s Chief Executive Officer, a three-course meal was served to the guests.
Sir George William Buckley gave a fascinating after-dinner speech about how he overcame a difficult and impoverished childhood then took up an apprenticeship as an electrician, before working in the US and eventually becoming the Chairman, President and CEO of 3M, until his retirement in 2012.
The glittering event was the second annual dinner held by EEF in this region, building on the success of last year’s event at the Royal Armouries.
