    JOB VACANCY: Pipefitter – POSITION FILLED

    Recruiting now for an experienced Pipefitter – on a permanent basis.

    PPS offer Sales/Service of a varied range of Compressed Air Equipment, Ancillaries, Vacuum, Pneumatics and Nitrogen products.

    Some Key tasks as a Pipefitter – would include:

    • Assemble and install piping for compressed air, inert gases, and water systems
    • Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings to hold pipe
    • Install compressors, couplings and other fittings
    • Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe for repairs
    • Perform other duties as needed to assist the pipefitting team
    • Loading and delivering materials
    • Using a variety of tools hand and power
    • Cleaning and preparing a job site
    • Setting up and taking down ladders, scaffolding and other structures
    • Using & working safely from MEWPS
    • Compliance with responsibilities as laid down in the Company’s Health, Safety and Environment Policy and as explained in Site Health and Safety rules/procedures
    • Contribute to improving the business, protecting and enhancing the reputation of the company, by putting forward new ideas and, when requested to do so, implementing change
    • Liaising with Brighouse and Sheffield teams as required
    • Work with various departments to ensure projects are planned in and kept on schedule

    Skills required:

    • Mechanical Assembly of pipe, Threading, Hanging etc
    • Knowledge of “push-fit” systems as Airnet, Transair
    • Knowledge of ABS assembly of pipe
    • Safety Passport, CSCS & IPAF card holder (current or recently expired) desirable.
    • Excellent customer service
    • Understanding of CAD drawings
    • Good negotiating skills
    • Proficient IT skills
    • Good organisation skills
    • Good communication skills
    • Ability to work effectively individually or part of a busy team and work under pressure
    • Good telephone manner
    • Good command of the English language (Written and spoken)
    • Good mathematical skills
    • Ability to meet deadlines and targets
    • Full clean driving licence

    Working hours: 8.30am to 5pm per week
