Condensate Management

Atlas Copco's environmentally friendly answer to oily waste water problems
Waste water in an oil-injected compressed air system is generally contaminated with oil. This oil is introduced by the compressor and must be removed before the condensate (oil/water emulsion) is discharged into a drain.
Although Atlas Copco is continually improving the efficiency of the separators in their compressors, the current directives concerning condensate quality, prior to draining, are now so stringent that further treatment is invariably required.

With the development of three different systems of oil/water separation, Atlas Copco has the environmentally friendly answer to condensate from oil injected compressors to a quality far superior to any legal requirement.
OSW oil/water separator
The OSW oil/water separator systems are available in 6 sizes, ready to connect, are user friendly and space – saving.
The working principle is based upon adsorption filters. Condensate enters in the pressure relief chamber where solid particles present in the condensate will be collected in the removable sediment container. Part of the oil present in the condensate will rise to the surface of the container and will be drained into the oil container via the overflow valve. The pre-cleaned condensate will flow through the adsorption filters where the remaining oil is retained.
In order to guarantee an even quality of the condensate processing system, a replacement of the preliminary and adsorption filter is required when indicated by the reference turbidity test.
Maximum compressor capacity range from 36 cfm to 2118 cfm.
EWD / Electronic Water Drain
The range of EWD electronically controlled condensate drains is synonymous with safe, dependable and economical condensate management.
The intelligent drain function monitors condensate build up with liquid level sensors and evacuates the condensate only when necessary, thus avoiding wastage of compressed air and giving considerable energy savings.
The EWD drain device offers security and confidence, enabling you to solve all condensate discharge problems with heavily contaminated systems.
A wide range of different EWD drains is available for oil contaminated condensate and also may be provided with additional hard coating for use with oil free and aggressive condensate.
Maximum compressor capacity 138 cfm to 45920 cfm.
